Skiing
Powder snow and sunshine – for many people that is paradise on earth. Head over the perfectly tended pistes on skis or on a snowboard, or enjoy freeriding across the unspoilt deep snow slopes into the valley – happy hormones will rocket.
There are a wide variety of ski areas here, so it is a ski region that suits everyone, with the right pistes for all - guaranteed!
For children and beginners there is the 'baby lift' in Uttendorf. The tended piste is flat and is perfect for learning this winter sport.
Important: the free ski bus and ski train stop right outside our building!
Should you prefer to ski and snowboard away from the pistes, countless ski tours are waiting for you in the Pinzgau region! Uttendorf's freeride area - Weißsee Glacier World – will quell your hunger for deep snow.
Ski areas
The Stubacher Hof in Uttendorf is the perfect starting point for skiers, snowboarders and ski tourers in the Salzburg Alps.
Within a 20 minute drive you can get to 6 famous, extensive ski areas:
- "Weißsee Glacier World" in Uttendorf
- "KitzSki" ski area - Hollersbach to Kitzbühel
- "Kitzsteinhorn" glacier ski area in Kaprun
- "Schmitteski area n" in Zell am See
- "Wildkogel" ski area in Bramberg & Neukirchen
- "Skicircus Saalbach-Hinterglemm-Leogang-Fieberbrunn"
- Should that not be enough for you – within an hour's drive you can get to many more interesting ski areas!
Tobogganing/ Bob sledding
Sledding – also known as tobogganing – is fun for everyone. Whether you go sledding by yourself, with the family or with your friends - sport and fun go hand-in-hand here.
Who is the fastest? The first to get to the valley? Who will be the most elegant at overtaking? Who will overturn most often? Who will be the last one to the valley? Fun is what it's about!
Toboggan on the "longest floodlit toboggan run in the world". In Bramberg, just a 20 minute drive away, you get to toboggan on a 14 km natural toboggan run into the valley. Unforgettable!
Cross-country skiing/Winter hiking
Right on the hotel doorstep is the access point to a 20 km cross-country network in Uttendorf. The floodlit, artificial lake slope provides the best cross-country conditions all winter long.
Hike quietly through the landscape. Across meadows, through forests and on Alpine pastures. Enjoy the tranquillity, observe the flora and fauna, and experience pure relaxation. On more than 20 km of very well cleared winter hiking paths you can walk, hike or even run.
You can also don your snow shoes and walk cross-country through the powders snow. Explore wonderful places and mysterious areas that you would not get to without snowshoes. Enjoy the views from secluded and tranquil places. Give it a go!
