Hiking
Hikers, mountaineers and trekkers will find the best conditions here with us in Uttendorf and the region – there are hundreds of kilometres of well signposted paths and Alpine trails, as well as managed Alpine inns and mountain lodges. With the cable cars in the region you can head to lots of mountains and – if you want to – will at least save yourself having to do a part of the climb.
From an easy family hike in the valley to wonderful altitude hiking trails, via ferratas and high Alpine hikes, every mountain enthusiast will find a path here. Countless routes invite you to explore the mountains of the Hohe Tauern. Uttendorf is located on the Hohe Tauern panorama trail.
We are qualified hiking guides and happy to offer guided hikes for groups. There are also guided full and half-day tours every day with National Park rangers in Hohe Tauern National Park.
Water sports
Do you adore the water? Enjoy swimming? Practice sport on and in the water? Or maybe you just want to relax on the water? Come to us in the Stubacher Hof - the perfect holiday destination to fulfil all your wishes.
Just 100 m away is Uttendorf adventure pool and its extensive offer. Should you want variety, within a few kilometres there are other swimming lakes, numerous outdoor pools and indoor pools. There is even one of the loveliest mountain lakes in the Alps, Lake Zell with its boat trip and countless water sports offers, is a mere 18 km away.
Or relax – whatever the weather - in Therme Tauern Spa Kaprun, Alpentherme in Bad Hofgastein or Felsentherme in Bad Gastein. These offer a wide range of indoor and outdoor pools, a sauna area with different saunas and a children's area.
Mountain biking & Road cycling
By bike through the natural surroundings - a wonderful experience. Whether you ride at a leisurely, slow pace on a cycle path or head into the valley on a forest road, taking in the flora and fauna, ride an E-Bike to an Alpine inn, scale a summit on a mountain bike, or tackle a
trail – the decision is yours. In the region around Uttendorf everyone will find a path or trail to suit their fitness level, ability and bike. Gasthof Stubacher Hof is located right at the Tauern Cycle Path.
Should you not have a bike, or not have one with you, you can hire one in one of the sports shops in the region.
Sport & Action
Uttendorf is located right in the centre of the Austrian Alps in the Hohe Tauern National Park. You will of course also find a wide variety of climbing routes through cliff faces – in all difficulty levels – here in the region.
Pure adrenaline! Do you adore adventure? Then head out rafting, canyoning, paragliding or to one of the high ropes courses.
Prefer things to be a little more tranquil? Then the numerous golf courses in the region, the fishing waters or an archery course have just what you need.
